oil paintings on lenticular prints
Lenticular are those accessible 3D effect plastic prints , very popular displaying kitsch or “bad-taste” images. A mass produced decorative art to be hang on walls, showing intense exaggerated colors, high contrast and oversaturated tones. A “fakeish” feeling and are very popular with themes such as japanese fishes, idyllic paysages, wild animals, cartoon drawings and domestic pets, why not ?
This series is about two very different styles and two differnet materials, in a visual “tour de force” to bring them together, both dealing with the kitsch over exaggerated character of the 3-D simulacrum and the oil paint.
